Centro Superior de Idiomas de la

The Centro Superior de Idiomas is the University of Alicante's own language centre, and it's the go-to if you want to learn Spanish properly with an academic set-up behind it. It sits in the Germán Bernácer building on the campus in San Vicente del Raspeig, about 15 minutes from the city centre. For Spanish there are intensive courses, semester courses, a summer programme, online options and teacher training. It's an official exam centre for DELE and SIELE, and lists the CCSE citizenship test among its exams. It teaches English, French, German and Italian too, with Cambridge, Oxford and IELTS exam preparation. It's handy for newcomers because it can sort accommodation, with shared flats, homestays and university halls, plus pick-up from the airport or station. There's a programme of trips, excursions and conversation exchanges, so it suits students, Erasmus types and anyone who wants structure and a social side.
