Moments Bar

Moments Bar is the smart beachfront place in Urbanova, facing Saladares beach between Alicante and El Altet, and it's where locals go for a long lunch that drifts into cocktails. It's run by siblings Sergio and Raquel Remacha, the family behind El Capricho de Raquel, and the kitchen runs non-stop from 9am to 1am (later in summer), closing only on Christmas Eve. The Josper charcoal oven does the heavy lifting: red prawns and Santa Pola cigalas, grilled fish, Angus beef and vegetables. Around that you'll find Alicante salted fish, cocas, tinned seafood, Iberian cured meats, burrata salad and grilled artichokes. The wine list runs to hundreds of labels with plenty of champagne, and the cocktails are a big part of the appeal. The terrace, the sea and the music are what reviewers keep coming back to. It's not cheap, with press putting the average at just under 50 euros a head, so treat it as a treat. You can book by phone or online.
