O'hara Irish Pub

O'Hara is an Irish-themed pub on Plaza de los Luceros, right in the middle of Alicante, and its pavement tables are a good spot for a cheap drink and some people-watching around the fountain square. It opens every day from 10am until midnight. Inside there are booths and, yes, a rather large moose on the wall. The drinks list is wide, with a good range of beers, buckets of thirds, Irish coffee and mixed drinks, and regulars praise the generous free-poured gin and tonics, which come with nibbles and olives. Prices are kind and it takes cards. Set your expectations, though. It's Irish in name more than spirit, and one recent visitor was unimpressed with how the Guinness was poured. Think of it as a handy central terrace for a happy-hour drink between sights rather than a proper Irish bar night, and you'll enjoy it for what it is.
