Restaurante Templo

Templo is a steakhouse on Calle Periodista Pirula Arderius, a step from Plaza Nueva in central Alicante, and it's where you go when you want a serious piece of aged beef rather than more seafood. Ángel García opened it in 2018 after years working in food exports, and local press have called it a sanctuary of the chuletón. The beef is dry-aged in its own maturation chambers, with breeds like Simmental, Angus, Rubia Gallega and Holstein Friesian, and ageing that can run well past the usual weeks. Reviewers talk about the long-aged chuletón, a wagyu tasting, cecina and excellent ham croquetas. There's a tasting menu if you want to work through a bit of everything, and a good list of wines by the glass. Staff know their stuff and will steer you on cuts and wine, which reviewers really appreciate. The room is cosy and on the small side, so book ahead.
