Confetti Alicante

Confetti is Alicante's long-running indie club, near the Teatro Principal, and it's where you go when you'd rather dance to The Smiths and new wave than reggaeton. It started out in the lanes of El Barrio back in the 1990s before settling here on Calle Médico Pascual Pérez, and it recently marked 30 years. The soundtrack covers indie, rock, pop and indie electronic, with resident and guest DJs and a steady line-up of live gigs from Spanish indie bands. The weekend tardeo, starting around 4pm, is a big part of its following, and loyal regulars of all ages fill the dance floor on Friday and Saturday nights. There's a cocktail side to the bar too. If you're staying out by the beach, its sister venue Confetti Playa in Playa de San Juan hosts some of the bigger concerts. Check the Instagram for gig dates, as concerts sell tickets in advance.
