Hospital Vithas Alicante is a long-established private hospital on Plaza Doctor Gómez Ulla, near the city centre. It's been running since 1944 and joined the Vithas group in 2012. If you have private insurance, it's one of the main options in the city for specialists, tests and surgery. It has a 24 hour emergency department staffed around the clock, every day of the year. Key specialties include cardiology, cardiac surgery, oncology, orthopaedics and traumatology, general and liver surgery, urology and haemodynamics, plus neurosurgery, ophthalmology, ENT and diagnostic imaging. For international residents, Vithas runs an international patient service across the Valencian region, with staff working in languages including English, French, Italian and Russian. They suggest calling the hospital first to confirm language support for your appointment. Don't confuse it with Vithas Medimar, which is the group's separate hospital in Alicante.
