Chef's Concept is a casual restaurant on Calle Mayor in Alicante's old town, with tables out on the street, and it's an easy all-rounder if your group can't agree on what to eat. The menu covers paella, steaks, burgers, pizza and tapas, and the staff speak English, so it's popular with visitors. The paella is the main reason people go. Reviewers have enjoyed both the chicken and the sirloin versions, and the Argentine steak, the Angus burger and the sweet potato fries all get good mentions. There's a cocktail list too, and some nights there's live music. Be aware that reviews are mixed. The recurring complaints are slow service when it's busy (paella takes a while, so don't come starving), meat not always cooked as ordered, and prices that some feel are high for what arrives.
