Benidorm Market Days: Which Market, Which Day, and Where

Wednesday at Foietes, Wednesday and Sunday at Rincón de Loix, the El Cisne flea market, and how to do them right.

If you only remember one thing, it's Wednesday and Sunday. Benidorm's big street markets run on Wednesday mornings (the municipal market at Mercasa in Foietes, plus the Rincón de Loix market by Hotel Pueblo) and on Sunday mornings (Rincón de Loix again, plus the El Cisne flea market on the edge of town). They're all morning-only, roughly 8am to 2pm, so don't turn up after lunch.

Quick facts

  • Wednesday: Foietes municipal market, on the Mercasa site next to the Guillermo Amor sports city. Around 240 stalls, mornings, roughly 8:00-14:00.
  • Wednesday and Sunday: Rincón de Loix market (also called the Hotel Pueblo market), on Avenida de l'Almirall Bernat de Sarrià near Levante beach. Listed as 8:00-14:00.
  • Thursday, Saturday and Sunday: El Cisne rastro (flea and antiques market), Avenida de la Comunitat Valenciana. Listed as about 9:00-14:00.
  • Christmas: a Christmas market in Plaza de SS.MM. Reyes de España, from late November or early December until 6 January.
  • Holidays: when a Wednesday is a public holiday, the council sometimes moves the Foietes market to the Tuesday. Check benidorm.org the week you're there.

The Wednesday market at Foietes (Mercasa)

This is the big municipal market, and the one locals actually use. It sits on the Mercasa esplanade next to the Guillermo Amor sports city, around Foietes Park, on the far side of the railway line from the old town.

What's sold: garden produce, cured meats from the mountain villages, artisan bread, plants, household bits and cheap everyday clothes. It feels less touristy than Rincón de Loix. Sellers chat with regulars, and people don't really haggle.

Has it moved? It's at Mercasa now. In July 2025 it moved for a month to the fairground (Recinto Ferial) in Els Tolls because of the summer music festivals, then came back on 6 August 2025. In May 2026 the council said it would stay at Mercasa every Wednesday through summer 2026 instead of moving. So for a winter visit, Mercasa is the place.

Holiday shifts: when a Wednesday is a public holiday, the council often brings the market forward to the Tuesday. That happened for San José in March 2025 (Tuesday 18th), and on Tuesday 30 April in an earlier year. Check the council news page if your Wednesday is a holiday.

Getting there: it's walkable from the old town and the Poniente side. From the Levante hotels it's a longer walk across town, so a taxi or local bus is easier. Don't plan to park at Mercasa itself. The car park is used by the stalls on market day, and the council has long restricted parking there on Wednesdays.

The Rincón de Loix market (Wednesday and Sunday)

This is the one most holidaymakers mean when they say "the Benidorm market". It fills a large esplanade beside Hotel Pueblo, close to Avenida del Mediterráneo and a short walk from Levante beach. Estimates run from about 200 to over 300 stalls.

What's sold: summer clothes, bags, shoes, sunglasses, jewellery, toys, household goods and Benidorm souvenirs. There's food too: olives and pickles, fruit, sweets and nuts. Prices are low and it's full of British and Dutch accents, which makes for good people-watching.

Getting there: if you're staying in Levante or Rincón de Loix, just walk. It's one of the easiest things to fit into a beach morning.

The El Cisne rastro (flea market)

If you like rummaging, this is the best of the lot. The El Cisne market is on Avenida de la Comunitat Valenciana, about 3km north-east of the centre near Camping Benisol, with stalls around an old farmhouse that's been turned into a permanent market. Listings give about 80 stalls.

What's sold: antiques, restored furniture, silver, ceramics, tools, vintage clothes, vinyl records, old cameras, books in several languages, old coins and 80s and 90s toys. There's a terrace under the trees for a drink, and live music at weekends.

When: listed as Thursday, Saturday and Sunday mornings. One older blog mentions Sunday only, so Sunday is the safest bet.

Getting there: it's out of town, so take a taxi or drive.

Seasonal markets

  • Christmas market: Plaza de SS.MM. Reyes de España, listed from late November or early December until 6 January, about 10:00-20:00, with an ice rink and rides. See our Christmas in Benidorm guide.
  • Summer evening craft markets: in the warmer months there's a small crafts market by Parque de Elche at the end of Poniente, a night market in Plaza de la Señoría (listed July to September, 19:30-01:00), and stalls in the old town around the Balcón del Mediterráneo.

Tips from someone who goes

  • Go early. By 9-10am it's cooler, quieter and the stalls are full. By 1pm people are packing up.
  • Carry cash in small notes. Don't count on every stall taking cards.
  • Bring a bag for fruit and veg at Foietes.
  • Watch your bag in the crowds, especially at Rincón de Loix on a busy Sunday. A cross-body bag zipped up is all you need.
  • Make a morning of it. After Foietes, walk back into the old town for a coffee or an early tapa at La Cava Aragonesa on Plaza de la Constitució, then carry on with our old town bars guide.
