Is Benidorm Expensive? Benidorm Prices in 2026
What a pint, a coffee, a menú del día, the tram and the airport taxi actually cost in Benidorm right now.
No, Benidorm isn't expensive, and for drinks it's still cheap compared with home. A Spanish beer in a local bar is about €1.80 to €2.50, a pint of something British in a strip pub is usually €3 to €4, a cappuccino is around €2, and a menú del día starts from about €12. Where people overspend is the airport taxi and imported UK brands on the seafront.

Is Benidorm expensive for drinks?
Not by UK or Irish standards. The average draught pint in UK pubs hit £5.34 in 2026, according to the Morning Advertiser's survey. In Benidorm you'll pay about €2-3 for a Spanish beer and €3-4 for a pint in a British-style pub. The jump comes with imported brands, which can reach €5.
The easy saving is to drink Spanish. Order a caña (a small draught) or a tubo (a taller glass) of the local lager and you'll pay the low end every time.
British strip vs old town vs Spanish places
The British bar strip (Levante)
The pubs around the Levante bar area are competitive, so pint prices are fair, often €3-4, with happy hours and deals to pull you in. Where it climbs is imported UK beers and cocktails on the seafront. Bars like the Shamrock Irish Pub are where you go for the atmosphere, not the cheapest pint in town.
The old town
The old town is where you eat well for not much. Pintxos run about €2.50-5 each, and a few of them with a caña makes a cheap, good lunch. Try La Cava Aragonesa or El Rincón del Ribera on Plaza de la Constitució, and see our old town bars guide for more.
Spanish places away from the seafront
Walk a few streets back from the beach and you'll find the menú del día: usually a starter, a main, dessert or coffee, bread and a drink for a set price. Recent diner reviews quote €11.90, €12.50 and €13 for everyday menus, and €16.50-22.50 for more ambitious ones. It's the best-value meal in Spain, and it's mostly a weekday lunch thing.
Getting around
- TRAM: fares went up on 1 October 2026. A one-zone single is now €2. Two- and three-zone singles rose too (they were €2.80 and €3.90), but the new prices weren't published clearly when we checked, so look at the machine or the TRAM app. Benidorm to Alicante is two zones and takes about 72 minutes. A 10-trip ticket went from €4.80 to €5.40 in October 2026, but check whether it works for your route on the FGV site. Our Alicante to Benidorm by tram guide has the details.
- Local bus: €1.60 a single (€1.75 at night), or €12 for a 24-hour pass.
- Taxis: metered. Short hops around town are cheap. The airport run is the big one: about €90 on the daytime tariff and about €98 at night, weekends and holidays. Pre-booked transfers come in a bit lower, with comparison sites showing averages around €83-86 for a car. See our Alicante airport to Benidorm guide.
The beach
The beach itself is free. Sunbeds and parasols are run by a concession, and travel guides put them at about €5-7 each per day, with two loungers and a parasol around €15-20. Prices vary by row and season, and they're posted on the beach, so check the board. Bring a towel and you pay nothing.
How to keep it cheap
- Drink Spanish beer and order a caña, not a pint of an imported brand.
- Eat your big meal at lunch with a menú del día.
- Use the tram and bus, and save taxis for late nights and luggage.
- Do one of the weekly Benidorm markets for fruit, snacks and cheap holiday clothes.
- Check the bill on the seafront. Mistakes happen, and a tourist strip is where they happen most.
