Texaco

Texaco is Playa de San Juan's big party bar on Avenida de la Costa Blanca, and it's been where San Juan goes out for more than 35 years. You come for the tardeo on the terrace and stay for the dance floor. It opens every day from 4pm until 4am. The music is commercial, reggaeton and big dance hits, with resident DJs. The weekly line-up gives each night its own flavour: salsa and bachata on Mondays and Wednesdays, themed nights through the week, and the main event is Saturday's tardeo that rolls straight into the night. Sundays bring paella sessions. It's big and loud, and that's the point. VIP areas and private events can be booked if you're out with a group. On peak summer weekends it gets packed, so arrive earlier if you want a spot on the terrace. Its sister terrace, Hakuna Matata, is right next door if you want dinner first.
