Qué Rico Restaurante Playa de San Juan

Qué Rico is a casual all-day spot on Avenida de Niza in Playa de San Juan, right on the seafront, and it's handy for anything from a breakfast tostada to a rice lunch after the beach. It's part of a small Alicante group that makes everything in-house. Mornings mean toast with tomato or avocado and a coffee at fair prices. Later on, the rices and paellas are what most people come for, and reviewers also rate the potato tortilla, the bravas and the salads. There's a set menu for around 30 euros, and lots of gluten-free options, which coeliacs appreciate. The terrace looks straight out to sea. It's a relaxed, family-friendly place rather than somewhere for a gourmet meal. Tables are fairly close together and service can get stretched when it's packed, with the odd mix-up on orders. Book at peak times online or by phone. It's open from 9am to 11pm every day except Wednesday.
