Baobab Soul Kitchen & Bar

Baobab is a vegetarian restaurant in Playa de San Juan run by three friends from Buenos Aires, and it's the place to take anyone who thinks meat-free food has to be dull. Two of them cook and one runs the room. The menu borrows from all over: pad Thai, Thai curry, pakora, baba ganoush, pumpkin cannelloni and a rösti burger, with plenty of vegan choices. The dining room is full of real plants and has a warm, creative feel, and the staff are known for explaining the dishes with real enthusiasm. Save room for the pistachio volcano, which turns up in review after review. Diners say it's pet friendly too. It got a big boost in early 2025 when TheFork's Top100 ranked it among the best-rated restaurants in Spain, and it's been in demand ever since. Book ahead, especially for weekend dinners, and check the hours before you go, as it doesn't open every day of the week.
