El Baret de Miquel

El Baret de Miquel is chef Miquel Ruiz's little tapas bar in Dénia's old town, on Carrer Historiador Palau, and it's one of the toughest tables in town to land. Ruiz used to cook at Michelin-starred kitchens like El Girasol in Moraira and La Seu, and now puts that skill into small, creative Mediterranean plates. The dishes people talk about are the salt cod fritters, the anchovy bun, aubergine with goat's cheese and honeycomb, sepia figatell and bonito en escabeche. Finish with the apple tart.
