El Port Restaurante

El Port is a friendly Mediterranean restaurant on Calle Bellavista, the strip facing Dénia's marina, and it's a good-value pick for rice or grilled fish with a view of the boats. The terrace looks across the road to the port, and inside is cosy rather than showy. Recent diners rave about the black rice, seafood paella, grilled entrecôte, grilled octopus and sea bass, tiger mussels and fried anchovies, plus a punchy house alioli. Desserts like lemon tart, cheesecake and tiramisu round it off. There's a cheap weekday menú del día and a fuller set menu at around 27 euros, and the chef also does a special from the day's fish market. Service is the thing everyone mentions: attentive, polite and full of little extras, and they'll happily sort food for a baby. It fills up on weekend evenings and in high season, so book by phone or email. Parking along Bellavista is a pain, and it's closed on Tuesdays.
