Denia
A food town with a castle, a busy port and ferries to the Balearics.
Dénia is at the northern end of the Costa Blanca, with a castle in the middle of town and a port where ferries leave for Ibiza, Formentera and Mallorca. It's a real town that keeps going all year, not just a summer resort.
Food is the big reason to come. Dénia is a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy, and the local red prawn is famous across Spain. The Montgó natural park sits behind the town for walking, and there are long sandy beaches to the north and rocky coves to the south.
