Calpe
The town under the Peñón de Ifach, the rock you can see from half the coast.
Calpe is the town under the Peñón de Ifach, a 332 m rock rising straight out of the sea and protected as a natural park. You can hike up it, though the top section needs a free permit and good shoes.
Either side of the rock are two sandy beaches, Arenal-Bol and La Fossa. Behind the town there are salt flats where flamingos often feed. The fishing port still holds its fish auction, and the restaurants around it are where to go for seafood.
