El Campello
A relaxed fishing town on the tram line north of Alicante.
El Campello is a small seaside town just past Playa de San Juan, with a working fishing port, a long seafront promenade and a much slower pace than the city. It feels like a Spanish town first and a resort second.
The best food is around the port and along the front, where rice dishes and fresh fish are the thing to order. The Illeta dels Banyets archaeological site sits right on the coast by the marina, and the TRAM makes it an easy trip from Alicante.
