Llum Restaurante

Llum is a beachfront restaurant on Almadrava beach in Els Poblets, just north of Dénia, and it's a laid-back spot for a long lunch with the sea right there. There's an indoor dining room and a big front-line terrace, and they put on music and live performances too. The food is Mediterranean with a Valencian slant, built on local seasonal produce. Charcoal does a lot of the work, with grilled sirloin, T-bone and octopus, alongside red tuna tataki, tellinas, mussels and cuttlefish. Reviewers mention the red prawns, lobster rice, fideuà, fried piparra peppers, croquetas and a good chocolate cake. Broadcaster Carlos Herrera gave its bravas and rices a public thumbs-up. The setting is the star, and most people leave happy, but recent reviews flag prices on the high side for the portion sizes, especially for drinks and seafood, and service can drag at the bar.
