Sala Stereo

Sala Stereo is one of Alicante's main live-music rooms, on Calle Pintor Velázquez in the centre, and it's where you go to see touring bands up close and then stay out dancing. It bills itself as the best concert venue in the city. The programme leans towards indie, rock, pop and soul, mixing Spanish acts with international names. Recent and upcoming bills include soul singer Eli Paperboy Reed and a Halloween surf-rock night. Most gigs start around 10pm. On Fridays and Saturdays, once the gig is done, the room turns into a club with DJ sessions that run into the early hours, so it works for a full night out. Concert tickets are sold in advance, so check the website before you go rather than turning up on the night.
