La Mafia se sienta a la mesa

This big Italian on Avenida del Locutor Vicente Hipólito in Playa de San Juan is where families go when everyone wants something different. Heads up: it's not called La Mafia any more. In July 2026 it reopened under new management as La Famiglia se sienta a la mesa, with a refit inside and out and a new menu. The food is the chain's take on Italian. Pasta, pizza and risotto sit alongside meat and fish, with dishes like meatballs, a potato omelette done carbonara-style, and clams and prawns in pil-pil sauce. Local press put the average spend at around 25 euros a head, which is fair for the beach strip. It's a large place with a terrace and an outdoor area where kids can kick a ball about, plus a supervised children's corner at weekends for a small fee. Groups should book a couple of days ahead through the website. Older reviews online mostly describe the previous setup, so take them with a pinch of salt.
